Dr. Melissa Walsh is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist from NYC where she completed residency training and practiced for 10+ years in public health institutions as a frontline provider and assistant clinical professor. During her time at the nation’s largest municipal healthcare system, she was awarded one of 25 NYC H+H’s Doctor of the Year honors in 2018.
Dr. Walsh is a public speaker and advocate for Web3’s potential to transform the healthcare system. She is a member of Humanitarian Physicians Empowerment Community (HPEC), a decentralized network leveraging blockchain technology to authenticate licensing, credentials and referrals for medical professionals. She is also collaborating with AthenaDAO, a community of researchers, funders, & advocates working to advance women’s health research, education, and funding.
Dr. Walsh entered the Web3 space in 2021 and earned her “Spottie WiFey” nickname while supporting her husband, Spottie WiFi, who is a notable Web3 musician. She helps lead the development of apparel and merchandise for the Spottie WiFi online store. Dr. Walsh is also an active member of NFT communities including CryptoPunks, BAYC, World of Women, Gutter Cat Gang, and Cool Cats.
